Pit Droid

School Project     Individual Design 2021

To gain proficiency at Solidworks and Keyshot software, I designed an toy based off the pit droid from Star Wars.

I learned to implement detailed rust texture assets from the Quixel Mega scans library to give the model extra detail.

Here is a simple animation of the solid works assembly folding similar to the way it did in the films. Though the movies stretch reality a bit when it comes to folding droid physics, I tried to keep true to them as I designed this toy to be able to fold well- though its not exactly the same as the movies.

Technical Drawings, take note of the telescopic knee joint necessary for the robot to fold properly. this is an example of an addition I had to implement to make the folding mechanisms work.

I was sure to use actual logos, and hieroglyphs from various languages in Star Wars on the robot as can be seen in the Dum-SERIES logo.
