About

Hello, my name is Thomas Anthony Wiwchar. 

I'm an Industrial Designer working for Engineering Design Lab, where I have had great experience practicing design for manufacturing, and creating successful products with a team of brilliant engineers. I received my Bachelor's of Industrial Design from Carleton University, and thoroughly enjoyed my education there.

I am so grateful for the lessons tools and techniques the people at school and work have taught me to equip me for the future, and the pathway to chase my dreams. Between University and Work and hobbies I have come to love teamwork, and the thrill of creativity and problem solving multiplied across multiple people. 

I love to create things. I grew up on the lakes of northern Ontario with my nose in a book, my left hand in a Lego bucket and my right at the end of a paintbrush. 

Design is a huge part of my life. I have been doing it for as long as I can remember. I spend many hours of a day coming up with design ideas and mulling them over in my mind. I like to analyze problems and work out solutions by sketching iterations and building prototypes. 

I love finding new workflows, new ways to design, create and accomplish goals. I'm often troubled by a problem I see, and love the strategy of finding unique ways to get to the solution.  I am a dreamer, and when I have a dream, in time inspiration strikes and I find a way to accomplish it. 

In my spare time I enjoy creating music, writing novels, racing sailboats, exploring animation and filmmaking techniques, piloting airplanes, reading ancient books, and going on adventures with my family.
