First Place 2022 EVTOL Design Competition

During my time becoming a pilot and working a summer job maintaining an airport, I realised that there was great room for improvement in the private aviation industry. Fule is becoming astronomically expensive. Most private planes are inefficient 60 year old designs. The increasing cost has made this activity of private piloting out of reach for most people, causing the industry to shrink and become stagnant. 

An electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft has the potential to revive the industry. They are much more useful for commuting or pleasure flights as they can land anywhere there is flat ground, as opposed to needing a runway. This design also has significantly lower operating costs as it only costs about $4 to charge.  The electric design and ultralight aircraft category significantly reduces maintenance costs. It is a dream of mine to help revive the private aviation industry and give more people with less means the freedom and joy of flight.
